These are indicative rates based on our experience across the South of England. All prices exclude VAT and scaffolding unless stated:
- Steelwork blast and paint (SA 2.5 preparation, two-coat system): £25–£45 per m²
- Cladding repainting (wash, prep, two-coat spray): £12–£22 per m²
- UPVC spraying (frames and panels): £30–£60 per frame depending on size

These ranges assume reasonable access conditions. Confined spaces, high-level work, or projects requiring full containment will be at the upper end or beyond these ranges.

- Surface preparation — this is typically 60–70% of the total cost. A heavily corroded structure needing blast cleaning costs significantly more to prepare than a clean, previously coated surface needing only a light abrasion.
- Coating specification — high-performance systems such as thermal-sprayed zinc or multi-coat epoxy systems cost more per m² than standard alkyd or polyurethane finishes, but offer much longer service life.
- Access and containment — if blasting and spraying must be contained to prevent overspray or environmental contamination, the cost of shrink-wrapping, sheeting, and waste disposal adds to the project total.
- Location and logistics — city centre sites with restricted parking, limited storage, and out-of-hours working requirements cost more than open industrial sites.
