Intumescent Fire Protection for Padel Court Steelwork

Newlook Protective Coatings provided intumescent fire protection to the new structural steelwork at Green Acres School in Bedford, as part of the construction of a new structure for four padel courts.

The steelwork was professionally prepared and coated with an intumescent system designed to provide protection in the event of fire. When exposed to high temperatures, the coating expands to form an insulating layer around the steel, helping to slow the rate at which the steel heats and supporting the required fire protection of the structure.

The completed steelwork provides the required protective coating while contributing to a safe, durable and professionally finished structure for the new sporting facilities.
